      Are there loans available for home improvements? If so, how do you access them?

        The West of England local councils do fund a loan scheme for eligible homeowners to make essential home repairs, improvements as well as improving a home’s energy efficiency or investing in renewable energy technology like solar panels or air source heat pumps.  Eligibility for loans will depend on your local council’s policy and your individual circumstances.  To find out more, visit https://www.lendology.org.uk/loans/home-improvement-loans/ or call us on 01823 461099.

          A few years ago I had a loan from Lendology to help with a new roof and solar panels. The process was fairly easy and the savings/income from the panels help towards the loan repayments. The timing was not right to extend the mortgage, but we may transfer the loan across in the future – subject to interest rates at the time. So having no early repayment fee is a bonus.
